The government has strengthened the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (RHI) with news that the tariff for Air Source Heat Pumps is to rise from April 2017 to 10.02 p/kWh from 7.51 p/kWh. Ground Source Heat Pumps see a slight rise from 19.33 p/kWh.

This is excellent news for homeowners looking to make the switch from oil or LPG to more effective and efficient methods of heating their home.

The amended scheme will see energy caps being introduced on Air, Ground and Biomass installations to ensure that the scheme stays viable.

The coming months will be a great time for homeowners to take the time to seriously look at the heat pump options available to them and make a bold step to embracing new technology within their homes.
