Commercial Air Conditioning

Introduction

For companies that need precise temperature and air quality control, modern air conditioning systems are often the best option.

Here at GSM Ltd, this is what we specialise in. With over 35 years of experience, we provide fully engineered solutions – from initial design through to installation and commissioning – ensuring all systems perform efficiently in real-world conditions.

Our approach is not product-led. That is to say, we don’t install generic equipment and then walk away.

Instead, we design systems around the building itself – its usage, its layout, and its operational requirements – ensuring that every component is fully efficient and reliable: working from day one, right the way through the system’s operational lifespan.

Benefits Of Air Conditioning

Provides precise temperature control and consistent indoor comfort
Improves energy efficiency through advanced systems like VRF/VRV
Supports multi-zone buildings with tailored climate control per area
Integrates with wider energy systems (solar, battery storage, smart controls)
Designed for long-term reliability with ongoing maintenance and lifecycle support
An indoor Air con unit.

Complete Air Conditioning Solutions

We mentioned there that a modern air conditioning solution is a system designed around the building itself, but what exactly does this mean?

Some of the design considerations we factor into every project include:

Commercial HVAC, heating an cooling system installation.

Live Operational Sites

If the site is live, careful phasing and planning are essential to minimise disruption and maintain day-to-day operations.

Retrofit and System Upgrades

To support air conditioning loads safely and efficiently, existing infrastructure must be assessed and upgraded where necessary. This might include the replacement of legacy systems with VRF/VRV solutions, control system upgrades, or general energy efficiency improvements.

Seasonal Efficiency

Air conditioning systems aren’t just for winter – they need to be designed to perform optimally throughout the year, balancing comfort and energy use.

Multi-Zone Environments

It’s crucial to ensure each area of the building receives the right level of cooling and ventilation for its use and occupancy.

Integration with Existing Energy Systems

We can integrate air conditioning systems with wider energy solutions, including solar PV systems to offset electrical demand, battery storage for load management, smart energy controls, and load shifting based on tariff structures.

Alignment With Heat Decarbonisation Strategies

In line with the previous point, installing a modern air conditioning system is about supporting wider energy efficiency and decarbonisation objectives, not just immediate climate control – so we ensure to optimise system performance to align with long-term carbon reduction targets.

In-House
Installers

At GSM Limited, we don’t use outsourced subcontractors. We have a team of experienced and professional installers who have all gone through expert training.

Over 30 Years Of
Experience

We have over 30 years of experience in delivering renewable energy systems as well as heating and cooling systems to both commercial and domestic customers.

Diamond Quality
Partners

Being a Mitsubishi Diamond Quality Partner means we have access to more service features for Mitsubishi products such as 10 Year Warranty.

Compliance and Credentials

Another key part of our approach is to remain compliant.

Every project must be managed effectively, with a bespoke health and safety system that not only ensures our air conditioning systems are secure, but every worker and site occupant are completely safe during the installation process.

Clients across the UK trust us to do this. Not only that, they trust us to do it to the highest technical standards.

Over the years, we’ve not only achieved SafeContractor Gold accreditation, but we’ve developed RIBA Stage 1-4 in-house CAD design capabilities, meaning we’re able to design, visualise, and coordinate complex systems before they even reach the site – reducing the risk and improving efficiency.

We’re also both a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Partner and a Daikin Approved Business Partner, which means our installations always meet manufacturer standards and are guaranteed to perform reliably over their lifecycle.

Maintenance and Lifecycle

Once system testing and performance verification is complete, the work then continues in the form of maintenance and lifecycle support.

Our dedicated commercial service department is focused on keeping systems running efficiently, and each air conditioning installation has a planned preventative maintenance schedule, meaning all issues can be identified and resolved before they impact performance.

This is crucial not only for performance optimisation, but for asset lifecycle planning – tracking the equipment health so that it operates reliably into the future.

With our long-term service contracts – supported by client training and comprehensive O&M documentation –  commercial clients have the capacity to do this, keeping their systems performing and their energy use under total control.

BMS Integration and Controls

All of this is supported by BMS – Building Management Systems – and advanced control integration, supported by our in-house control specialists.

We have extensive experience working with platforms including Trend, Carel, and T-MAC, which means we can integrate VRF/VRV and split systems seamlessly into existing BMS infrastructure, as well as develop bespoke control strategies tailored to the specific operational requirements of each building.

Our approach also focuses on optimisation of plant performance and energy consumption, ensuring that air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and ancillary systems work in harmony. With HVAC systems becoming increasingly complex and interconnected, it’s important to integrate controls seamlessly to maintain efficiency, and that’s something we can do through precise programming and monitoring.

If this isn’t something that’s required for a particular property, we can also deliver standalone control systems or full BMS upgrades – again, whatever the client’s needs, we know how to tailor our services to give everyone complete, personalised control over their building performance.

Why Choose GSM Ltd?

So why choose us? Really, it’s about choosing a quality-first approach over a product-led one.

As we mentioned before, commercial air conditioning systems must be reliable, efficient, and maintainable, and at GSM Ltd, we focus on delivering exactly that: covering everything from detailed system design and specification to high-quality installation.

We deliver systems that perform beyond handover, with a focus on long-term efficiency and compliance with all relevant standards. It’s also worth reiterating that our team is fully in-house, which means every stage – from CAD-led design and bespoke fabrication of ductwork and air handling components, through to installation and BMS integration – is controlled and quality assured.

There’s no reliance on subcontractors, so every element of the system is built to our exacting standards. In short, choosing GSM Ltd means choosing a partner who not only installs a reliable air conditioning system, but engineers it specifically to your property, and supports it through ongoing maintenance and lifecycle management.

To future-proof a building, it’s all about going with robust, integrated solutions straight off the bat, and that’s exactly what we aim to provide.
