The Solution
Following a heat loss and hydrogeology survey, we ascertained that there was an aquifer some 50 meters below ground level that would provide the required 0.84 litres per second to run heat pump. GSM ltd Installed of two open loop water sourced Ecoforest 5-22 heat pumps coupled to an extraction and discharge borehole.
The Benefit
The home now benefits from green energy for the home for its heating and hot water, lowering running costs and providing a comfortable environment. Being a water sourced heat pump the system was recording real time efficiencies (COP) of 5.3. Providing the customer 5.3 kilowatts of heat energy for one kilowatt of electricity! The customers are so happy they now wish to install a Tesla Powerwall 2 and solar PV so they can further reduce their running costs.
