A forward thinking dairy farming couple who supply a locally based dairy was seeking the best way to reduce their energy operating costs and improve their overall environmental credentials. Having already looked into and upgraded their operating facilities for their 300 dairy herd, they wanted to continue their energy efficiency improvements.
GSM Limited work with customers through a word of mouth recommendation and we were approached by the customers to visit their farm in late January 2013. With all of our potential customers we spend a good deal of time discussing a wide range of subjects that are vital to them, from aesthetics of the system, energy needs, location and of course budget. From these discussions we are able to source products from a non-restrictive list and develop the most suitable system for their needs.
The only restrictive element was the ability to deliver more than 20kW to the local transformer without incurring further costs to the Distribution Network Operator (DNO).
A key part of our process is that we understand the financial commitment that customers will make and the element of trust is crucial.
Having met the customers, GSM formulated a range of personalised options for the customers to consider. After presenting our proposals the customers decided to go with GSM Limited. Their decision was based on our personalised approach and of course relevance to their aspirations and needs.
GSM carried out a pre-installation survey so that we could ascertain any potential issues during installation as the farm operates 7 days a week. Installation was carried out over 5 days and caused no disruption to the farms operations.
